The term metrosexual became
known to many in the 1990’s. This after Mark Simpson invented the word to refer
to men who are “narcissistic with self-conscious kind of masculinity
produced by film, advertising and glossy magazines”. Nowadays, many are using it to describe urban
gentlemen who are interested in fashion and grooming. These gentlemen are not
homosexuals. They are just stylish chaps often seen in the metropolitan and not
in the countryside.
Metrosexuals do spend a long time taking a bath and grooming themselves. As they want to look good in front of everybody, they pick their clothes, shoes, accessories and scent well. According to some surveys, metrosexuals are leading to the birth of high-maintenance and less masculine men. Most women find this alarming because these men are becoming attention-huggers in a relationship. Thus, they are more difficult to manage and depend on.
